The Norfolk County Council Bowls Club was founded in 1971. The clubroom, which is within the grounds of County Hall, was built by the founder members of the Bowls Club with the financial support of the Norfolk County Council and the Sports & Social Club.
			The Club currently has teams in the following leagues: EBA Men’s League Division 2 South – Evening League EBA Mixed Triples League – only one league – Evening League Yare League – Premier Division – Evening League Anglia Afternoon League – We have 2 teams in Division 2 – ‘Canaries’ & ‘Eagles’ Teams
In addition to the league teams there are several ladies’ friendly matches played in the afternoons. We also have Club Afternoons on most Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Not all members choose to play in league matches so you can play as much or as little as you want.									Club Competitions are run during the season leading to the Club Finals Day in August. The Competitions are: Ø Club Singles (Open to both Men & Women) Ø Ladies Singles Ø Men’s Singles Ø Club Pairs Ø Club Triples Ø Club Fours
As you can see from the above picture, unlike most clubs we have a relaxed dress code for Club Afternoons. For league matches and competitions, white shirts and grey trousers/skirts are required – whites trousers/skirts are required for a few matches and Club Finals.
Although we have a membership of over 50 members, we are always looking for new members to join the Bowls Club – you don’t have to wait until retirement to join. We have Members who work full-time and have still been bowling for over 20 years.					Visitors at our 2009 Taster Session					If you would like to simply give bowls a try, we will be holding a ‘taster session’ on Sunday 26^th April 2010 from 2.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. Flat soled shoes must be worn and we can provide bowls if required – please let the Secretary know in advance if you want to borrow bowls.
